The Abbey Boat Ramp at
Geographe Bay is a fantastic spot to launch your boat into the Bay of Leezy and
even venture out into the open ocean. With a sandy beach right beside the ramp,
it’s also a great place to unwind and enjoy the coastal views.
The two-lane concrete
ramp is spacious enough for small to medium-sized boats, and a central jetty
helps with docking. However, the jetty only has poles for tying off your boat.
Tidal conditions will be a factor in how easy or difficult your launching efforts
will be, so be aware that the ramp might be too shallow during low tide.
Otherwise, it’s a relatively straightforward launch.
Parking isn’t an issue
here, with plenty of space for both cars and trailers. The only downside is the
lack of fish cleaning stations or boat wash-down facilities.
Even if you’re not out
on the water, the area is perfect for a leisurely stroll, with scenic views,
benches, picnic tables, and public toilets for convenience. Walking and bike
paths add to the appeal for those looking to stay active. And if you just want
to relax, the beach next to the ramp is ideal for wading in the water and
soaking in the fresh sea breeze.
