The Adventure Bay Boat
Ramp on the east coast of Bruny Island is a stunning spot with a single-lane
concrete ramp and a jetty, perfect for launching small boats into the open
ocean. However, keep in mind that the ramp is quite steep and can be tricky to
use at low tide due to shallow waters. Since it's exposed to
North-Northeasterly weather, surging conditions can make launching and
retrieving boats a challenge.
The jetty is a great
spot for land-based fishers to reel in a catch or try their luck at squidding.
Parking near the ramp
is pretty limited, so if you're planning to use it, it’s best to head out early
in the morning or visit on a weekday to avoid the crowds. If you're looking for
more facilities, another boat ramp is just a short drive away, offering similar
features but with better amenities, including a long jetty for easier docking.
Adventure Bay itself
is a fantastic destination for outdoor activities. The adjacent beach is
perfect for swimming, paddling, fishing, or simply taking in the breathtaking
coastal views. There’s also a larger parking area that can accommodate up to 10
vehicles, making it a convenient option for visitors. If you're in the mood for
a bite to eat or need to freshen up, mid-beach amenities include a shop, dining
options, toilets, and BBQ facilities. At the northern end of the bay, you'll
find ‘Quiet Corner,’ a secluded, sheltered beach often favored by locals for
its peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re out for a boating adventure or just
looking for a relaxing day by the water, Adventure Bay has something for
everyone.
