If you're looking for
a peaceful escape into nature, Archer’s Crossing Boat Ramp in Chinchilla
Hopeland is the perfect spot. Nestled along the Condamine River,
Hopeland, this secluded reserve offers a relaxing retreat for fishing, boating,
and camping enthusiasts.
The small,
single-lane concrete boat ramp is ideal for launching small boats and
kayaks, and with good water levels year-round, there’s never a bad
time to hit the water. Whether you're in a 2WD or 4WD, launching and
retrieving your vessel is a breeze.
Fishing and
watersports are big draws here, but it’s also a haven for birdwatchers
and those who simply want to unwind by the river. The area is quiet, surrounded
by shady trees, and provides BBQ and picnic facilities, making it
a great spot for a laid-back day outdoors.
If you’re planning to
stay overnight, the campground is spacious with plenty of natural shade.
There are no enforced time limits, so if you fall in love with the place, you
can stay as long as you like! Just keep in mind that while there used to be
toilets, they washed away in the 2012 flood; so plan accordingly. Campfires
are allowed (unless there’s a local fire ban), and pets are welcome, so
feel free to bring the whole crew along for a riverside adventure.
