Beachmere Boat Ramp

The Beachmere Boat Ramp, located in the coastal township of Beachmere in Moreton Bay, offers two well-designed launch options. The first is a large single-lane ramp beside a floating pontoon, making boarding straightforward and safe. Launching on an outgoing tide helps keep your boat steady against the pontoon, with the ramp’s moderate angle suitable for most vessels.

The second ramp is a dual-lane concrete option without a pontoon but with a soft sandy shoulder; ideal for tinnies, jet skis, and kayaks while you fetch your trailer. For paddle craft, the sandy launch makes getting on the water simple and convenient.

Anglers often fish from the pontoon, so occasional patience is needed when docking. The pontoon also serves as a handy spot for cast netting, with herring and other baitfish often about.

From the ramp, you launch directly into the Caboolture River, giving you the choice to head north along the winding riverways or south toward the channel that leads out to the ocean. However, the channel can be shallow during low tide conditions, so careful navigation is required. Crab pots are common here as well, sometimes with dark floats that can be hard to spot.

The area provides excellent safe anchorage, reliable fishing opportunities, and a pleasant picnic setting. Facilities are well-maintained, including toilets, BBQs, sheltered seating, a fish cleaning station, and plenty of space for car and trailer parking with lamp posts to illuminate the car park in dim conditions. A clean drinking water fountain and bins are also available, adding to the convenience.

Beachmere itself is a quiet, family-friendly spot. The riverside parkland beside the ramp offers a relaxed atmosphere with shaded tables, open grassy areas for kids, and views that make it easy to settle in for the day. Whether you’re launching a boat, paddling a kayak, or simply enjoying a riverside BBQ, it’s a place that combines practicality with the laid-back charm of nature. Just remember the insect repellent, as sandflies and midges are common.
