Bjelke-Petersen Dam Boat Ramp

Bjelke-Petersen Dam Caravan and Recreation Park, located in Moffatdale, a rural locality in the South Burnett Region, offers a welcoming base for boating, fishing, and camping, with a single lane concrete boat ramp located conveniently below the lakeside villas. A fish-cleaning station and regularly serviced bins are provided near the ramp, while an additional single lane ramp and cleaning table can be found at the nearby Day Use area.

Lake Barambah is open to boating, kayaking, sailing, swimming, and other water activities, though visitors are reminded to observe signage, watch for hazards, and maintain at least 100 metres’ distance from the dam wall, as marked by the buoy line. Fishing is permitted, except for onshore fishing close to the dam wall.

The park provides a variety of facilities to make your visit comfortable, including wide parking spaces, BBQs, shaded areas, and well-maintained amenities.

For campers, the privately operated caravan and camping area has everything you need, from powered and unpowered sites to a kiosk stocked with essentials like fishing and camping gear, groceries, firewood, and snacks. During peak seasons, the park also runs family-friendly holiday activities to keep everyone entertained.

The dam is a popular destination for water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, and fishing, with yellowbelly being a common catch. While weekends and school holidays can be busy, visitors seeking peace and quiet will find weekdays especially tranquil.

It’s an ideal spot to relax, recharge, and enjoy the natural surroundings, whether that means paddling across the calm waters, sharing a picnic by the shore, or simply taking in the view from the lookout toward the dam wall. With its blend of water-based activities, peaceful bushland setting, and practical facilities, Bjelke-Petersen Dam Caravan and Recreation Park makes a great choice for a camping getaway, a day trip, or a weekend of fishing and boating.

Serene and pretty place. Good place to enjoy nature and to relax from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Anyone can launch a kayak, a jetski, or small boat on the ramp. Fishing is also popular here. It can get quite busy during the holidays and weekends.
