Boonooroo Point Boat Ramp

The Boonooroo Point Boat Ramp, located in the quiet coastal town of Boonooroo in the Fraser Coast Region, offers a wide single-lane ramp that’s simple to use, especially at high tide. While tide-dependent, the gentle slope makes launching fairly easy. It’s also the only publicly accessible waterfront spot in Boonooroo, making it a key local access point to the water.

The ramp sits right near a peaceful foreshore area, complete with shaded picnic tables and seating, which is ideal for enjoying a quiet lunch with a view. On calm, sunny days, the scenery is hard to beat. Families will appreciate the relaxed vibe, where kids can explore while anglers try their luck with the local fish. Public toilets are available nearby, and while there’s no formal parking lot, there is space to park along the roadside.

Boonooroo Point is also a great place to bring visitors, especially those keen to catch a glimpse of nearby Fraser Island. It’s not uncommon to run into friendly locals or fellow fishers happy to share a story or two. Just 20 minutes from Maryborough and not far from Maaroom, the area makes a great day-trip destination.

With its peaceful atmosphere, beach views, and handy amenities, including a picnic shelter, water tap, and comfortable seating, the Boonooroo foreshore is often considered one of the region’s hidden gems.
