The Boreen Point boat
ramp, located on Urunga Parade, sits right on the shores of beautiful Lake
Cootharaba which is the largest lake on the Noosa River. This single-lane concrete ramp
is perfect for launching canoes, kayaks, and small boats, giving you direct access
to the lake and the Upper Noosa River waterway.
Launching here is a
breeze, and even 2WD vehicles won’t have any trouble. Just keep in mind that
jet skis aren’t allowed in the water.
Parking can be a bit
tight, especially during peak times, so plan accordingly. On the plus side,
there’s a handy public toilet nearby for those urgent moments.
The area around the
ramp is a lovely spot to soak in the scenery, with plenty of birdlife, including
pelicans, making it a great place to relax and enjoy nature. There’s also a
small off-leash area for dogs, so it’s a nice place for a stroll with your furry
friend.
Since it’s a quiet,
residential area, be mindful to keep noise levels down and respect the peaceful
surroundings. Whether you’re here for a paddle, a boat trip, or just to take in
the view, it’s a great little spot to visit!
