The Bradys Lake Boat Ramp, located in Tasmania’s scenic Central Highlands, is a well-used access point for both kayaking and fishing. The facility includes a dual-lane concrete ramp with a central pontoon platform, and a white navigation light is positioned at the end of the pontoon to assist with visibility in low-light conditions.
The ramp provides direct entry into Bradys Lake, with easy water access leading through to Lake Binney and Tungatinah Lagoon. It’s a popular spot for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for fishing, paddling, and lakeside camping in a peaceful natural setting.
Parking is located just a few metres from the ramp on an unsealed surface. The area can accommodate cars, trailers, and campervans, though it tends to fill up quickly, especially for those staying overnight, so arriving early is recommended.
Around the lake, visitors can enjoy several free recreation areas, including four spacious campgrounds suitable for families and pets. Whitewater Point Boat Campground, located on the western shore, also features accessible toilets. While the area is well-equipped for short stays, there is no drinking water, dump site, or water for toilets, so visitors are advised to bring their own supplies.
Campfires are permitted, and camping is free for up to 14 days, making it an appealing option for those seeking a quiet, affordable retreat. While the lake is calm and clean, diving and water skiing are not permitted. Swimmers are advised to keep at least 20 metres clear of the boat ramp area for safety.
With its tranquil views, clean surroundings, and access to excellent fishing waters, Bradys Lake offers a relaxed and enjoyable experience for nature lovers and weekend campers alike.
