The Bridgewater Fishermen's Boat Ramp is a single-lane concrete ramp located along the Loddon River. It has a slight bend in its alignment, which can make reversing a little challenging for some, particularly those less confident when backing a trailer. That said, it provides straightforward access to the river for small to medium-sized boats.
The Loddon River spans 392km north, passing through various townships before joining the Murray River. Along its course, it flows through reservoirs and weirs, making it a haven for water sports enthusiasts.
This area offers fantastic fishing opportunities for redfin, Murray cod, golden perch, silver perch, and carp.
There is a large, open area surrounding the ramp that provides ample space for parking. Boat ramp users can comfortably park their cars and trailers, while non-boating visitors also have room to accommodate caravans and other vehicles.
This area is also perfect for leisure cruising, kayaking, and waterskiing. Waterskiing is permitted daily from 8 am to 5:30-8 pm, depending on the season, with designated areas for different activities. Safety protocols should be strictly followed to ensure a smooth waterskiing experience.
Visitors who prefer not to boat can swim, picnic, and fish by the water's edge. This peaceful spot close to nature provides a relaxing escape.
Like all boat ramps in Victoria, it's free to use.
