The Bridport River Boat Ramp, located in the charming coastal town of Bridport on Tasmania’s north-east coast, offers a dual-lane concrete ramp with pontoons on either side, providing direct access to the ocean. It’s an all-weather ramp, though launching can be limited at low tide, and PWC fenders have been installed for convenience.
At high tide, a wide shallow area beside the ramp is perfect for swimming or letting the kids splash about. When the tide goes out, the space transforms into a broad sandy beach, great for running the dog off-leash. There’s also a small jetty offering lovely views over the water.
The surrounding area is picturesque, with beautiful waterways and coastal bushland framing this small seaside hamlet. While there’s no dedicated parking right beside the ramp, there’s plenty of room along the approach road, plus a nearby skatepark and library with toilets and extra car-only parking.
