Tucked away in a quieter pocket of Tannum Sands, the Broadacres Boat Ramp offers a simple, no-frills launching point for those willing to venture off the beaten track. This informal gravel ramp has no marked lanes and is best suited as a straightforward launch site, providing access to the scenic Colosseum Inlet.
Access is strictly 4WD only, adding to the remote feel of the location. To get there, follow Broadacres Drive, turn right onto Yacht Road, and continue to the end of the sealed section. From there, a dirt track leads all the way down to the ramp.
This spot is ideal for launching tinnies and other trailerable boats. Vessels up to around 6 metres can be launched comfortably on a mid to high tide, while smaller boats may be launched at most tide levels, but keep00 in mind the surrounding creek system is relatively shallow.
A wide, compacted dirt area nearby provides space for parking vehicles and trailers. There are no amenities on site, so it’s best to come prepared for a self-sufficient outing.
