Tucked away in the
Budds Beach Reserve in Surfers Paradise is the Budds Beach boat ramp. It is a
small, single-lane concrete ramp that’s perfect for launching small boats or
PWCs. The subtle decline of the ramp makes launching easy, but be aware—the
wide sandy beach next to the ramp tends to cover the concrete ramp, making
traction a challenge for some vehicles.
That said, this is
still a great spot to launch into the Nerang River. The adjacent sandy beach is
perfect for swimming, wading, sunbathing, or just playing around in the water.
Parking here is pretty
limited, with only a handful of street spots available for vehicles with
trailers, so plan accordingly.
The Reserve park
itself is a peaceful, shaded retreat with plenty of trees, picnic tables,
benches, toilets, BBQ stations, and a playground for kids. If you didn’t pack
food, no worries—there’s a coffee shop just across the street, making it easy
to grab a bite and enjoy an impromptu picnic with a river view.
