Bunbury Casuarina Boat
Harbour is a gem tucked between Bunbury’s CBD, the Outer Harbour, and beautiful
Koombana Bay; just south of Perth. If you're coming in by water, the Outer
Harbour gives you easy access, with a clear route between the land-backed wharf
on the western side.
This place is built
with boaters in mind. You’ve got a service jetty, 52 recreational and 5
commercial pens, swing moorings, a slipway, and a freshly upgraded two-lane
boat ramp with a floating jetty that’s wheelchair accessible. The ramp got a
major facelift in 2022, so it’s now perfect for bigger trailers and wide boats.
One of the best
things? It’s designed with everyone in mind. The facilities are purpose-built
for people with disability, as well as their families, carers, and mates. The
calm waters, grassy shaded spots, and handy amenities like public toilets and
BBQs make it a favourite for swimming, fishing, and just enjoying the water.
There’s plenty of
parking too; more than 20 car and trailer spaces just across from the ramp. The
only catch? No wash-down station at the ramp, so plan ahead for that.
Need a bathroom break?
You’ll find public toilets on Jetty Road, and if you’ve got a boat pen, there
are extra toilets and showers inside the harbour’s multipurpose building.
Bonus: there are bike racks out front too if you're cycling in.
All in all, it’s a
solid launch spot with chilled-out vibes and all the essentials. Perfect for a
weekend on the water!
