The Coffin Bay Boat
Ramp, located right on the Esplanade in Coffin Bay, is a fantastic spot for all
types of boaters; whether you're a casual angler or a commercial fisherman.
This spacious,
three-lane concrete ramp is designed for easy access, with three launch
jetties—one on each side and one in the middle. It’s wide enough to accommodate
larger boats, but keep in mind that a steady current flows across the ramps, so
be prepared when launching.
The ramp drops
straight into deep water and sits just 100 meters from the main channel that
leads out to the ocean.
You’ll find handy
facilities nearby, including a fish cleaning station, a boat wash-down area,
and toilets right across from the ramp. Parking isn’t an issue, with plenty of
spots for cars and trailers.
Using the ramp
requires a launch fee, with options for $7 daily permits, $28 weekly permits,
and $100 annual passes. If you don’t have your own boat but want to get in on
the action, GT Fishing Charters operates from this ramp, offering guided
fishing trips with experienced pros.
While camping isn’t
allowed at the ramp, there are picnic areas, BBQ facilities, and two covered
picnic spots where you can kick back and enjoy the coastal views. There’s also
an RV dump point just a few metres away.
