Constant Creek Boat Ramp, located at Mount Jukes and accessed via Howells Road, is a single-lane concrete ramp that provides access out into Constant Creek. It’s a heavily used facility and a popular launch point for small to medium boats.
That said, it does require some caution, particularly at low tide, when conditions can become quite tricky. There’s a noticeable drop-off at the end of the ramp, and the surrounding area can be very muddy and slippery. If you’re unfamiliar with the site, it’s worth taking things slowly, as there are rock bars in the creek that can easily catch you out if you’re not paying attention. Many experienced boaters recommend launching from around a quarter tide and above for safer access.
Despite the challenges, it’s a productive little waterway, well known for crabbing and solid fishing opportunities for those who know the area. Some visitors also report sightings of crocodiles, adding an extra reminder to stay alert and boat safely.
The ramp is supported by a spacious car park, along with running water for rinsing down gear after a trip. Insect repellent is recommended, particularly for midges.
For those looking to stay longer, the carpark also serves as a free camping area with plenty of flat ground. It’s generally quiet and makes for a good overnight stop for travellers, with potable water available. While shore-based fishing can be hit or miss, those with a boat will generally have better luck exploring the creek and surrounding waters.
