The Cowaramup Bay Boat
Ramp at Gracetown Beach is a fantastic spot to launch into some prime fishing
waters while soaking in the stunning coastal views. This small, single-lane
concrete ramp is best suited for small to medium-sized boats and remains accessible
in all tide conditions; though you’ll want to be extra cautious at low tide. If
you're planning to head out into open waters, keep in mind that the bay opens
directly to the Indian Ocean, and swells can get pretty intense. Navigating
these conditions requires experience, so make sure you’re confident in handling
your boat before venturing beyond the bay. There is a jetty beside the ramp which is helpful for docking boats as you try to retrieve it.
Parking is convenient,
with plenty of space for trailers and vehicles. If it gets busy, there's
additional parking at North Point, which also offers breathtaking views of the
coastline. Next to the ramp, you'll find a beautiful beach where families and friends
can relax, swim, and soak up the sun. This spot is especially popular in
summer, drawing in families with kids eager to splash in the safe waters. It’s
even a great place for beginner surfers to catch some waves.
North Point is also
well-known among the surfing community, so if you’re in the area, you might get
to watch some skilled surfers carving up the waves. Just a heads-up; there
aren’t any amenities directly at the ramp. If you need restrooms or a picnic
area, you’ll have to take a short walk or drive to the main part of Gracetown
Beach. But with the scenic surroundings and all the water activities to enjoy,
it’s a small trade-off for a fantastic day out by the ocean.
