Cowley Beach is
located along the Great Green Way, just 20 minutes south of Innisfail. This
peaceful beachfront area is situated 8 kilometres off the Bruce Highway and
features a kiosk, a caravan park, and a boat ramp.
The boat ramp is a
single-lane concrete ramp that has low-tide restrictions and is affected by
wave action and cross currents.
As Cowley Beach is in
Queensland, crocodiles may inhabit the area. During the summer, it becomes a
popular spot for turtle nesting.
Public toilets are
available, along with tables and shaded seating. There is plenty of parking
near the ramp, and a café that serves visitors.
If you plan to camp in
the area, a caravan park is conveniently located adjacent to the ramp. This
unique and tranquil site offers a total of 32 powered sites, 14 unpowered
sites, a newly refurbished amenity block, toilets, a camp kitchen, hot showers,
and a coin-operated laundry.
The beach is a great
area for kids to paddle and play in the sand, and it’s also a good spot for
fishing. Just be sure to exercise caution at all times.
