The single-lane concrete
ramp at the lower Merri River provides easy water access for small to
medium-sized water crafts. There is a pontoon beside the boat ramp where
fishing from the shore may be enjoyed for those who don’t have boats. Trouts
are commonly caught in these waters.
The Merri River, named
after the aboriginal word for “rocky” offers a tranquil riverside retreat that
is more than just fishing and boating. There is a dedicated picnic area where visitors
can relax, hang out with their pals or family, and do activities such as nature
walks, exploring wildlife, and more. They have family-friendly facilities, such
as a children's playground and a basketball court, to ensure fun for all ages. Amenities
include BBQs stations, picnic tables, and accessible washrooms.
