The Dingo Beach boat
ramp recently got a much-needed upgrade with a brand-new 2-lane concrete ramp
that gives boaters direct access to the open ocean.
During the
construction, Australian Concrete Mats set up a temporary ramp and hard stand
surface, ensuring boaters could still hit the water while the permanent ramp
was being built. Now, with the upgrade complete, launching here is smoother
than ever! From this spot, you can head straight out to Black Currant–Manta Ray
Reef, Manta Ray Island, and even further into the stunning Whitsundays.
If you’re planning an
early morning or twilight fishing trip, this ramp is a fantastic starting
point, as the waters tend to be calm and glassy during those times. Plus,
parking isn’t an issue, with plenty of space for cars and trailers nearby.
Dingo Beach itself is
a hidden gem; a wide, sandy stretch with crystal-clear aquamarine waters and a
peaceful vibe. It’s a perfect place to unwind, have a picnic, and let the salty
sea breeze wash over you. Families will love the designated swimming net, which
keeps kids safely within the shallows while they splash around.
The area is
well-equipped with electric BBQ stations, picnic tables, toilets, showers, and
a shaded playground for the little ones. Just keep in mind that camping isn’t
allowed here. Dingo Beach is strictly for day-use visitors. But if you’re keen
to stay longer, there’s a beachside hotel nearby where you can soak up more of
this beautiful coastal paradise.
