The Dunethin Boat Ramp, tucked away inside the recreation park near Dunethin Rock, is a small, single-lane concrete ramp that provides direct access to the Maroochy River. It’s a peaceful and scenic launch point, ideal for kayaking, with an easy entry into the water and a quiet atmosphere that’s perfect for enjoying a picnic after your paddle.
The area features ample parking spots for cars and trailers parking. There is also a small jetty just a few metres from the ramp, along with picnic tables, seating, and toilets. While there are no BBQ stations or fresh water facilities, you’re welcome to bring your own cooking gear and supplies.
This hidden gem in the Maroochy River is also a favourite for anglers, offering relaxing fishing spots where you might reel in catfish, the occasional flathead, or bream.
Surrounded by natural beauty, the location offers lovely river views, with rolling hills visible from the ramp. Dunethin Rock is just a short walk away and worth exploring. Do note that mosquitoes can be plentiful during humid or rainy days, so come prepared with mosquito repellent.
