Vestey's Beach is a chill, gently curving 2.2 km stretch of sand right in the heart of Darwin. You’ll find it on the northern side of Bullocky Point, not far from the Museum and Art Gallery of the NT. It’s a bit of a boating hotspot too—home to the Arafura Surf Lifesaving Club, plus the Darwin power boat, trailer boat, and sailing clubs. The northern half of the beach is usually dotted with moored boats, and there are a couple of public boat ramps if you're heading out on the water.
One of the ramps, the Fannie Bay Boat Ramp, is just next to the Darwin Ski Club on Conacher Street. It's a small, single-lane concrete ramp; perfect for launching little boats, but nothing too big. Parking’s a bit tight though; you’ll need to pull up along the roadside or find a decent spot a few metres away. Just a heads-up: no camping or overnight parking is allowed.
As for the beach itself; Vestey’s is super peaceful. It’s the kind of spot that’s perfect for a quiet stroll, especially if you're keen to escape the city buzz for a bit.
