The Fig Tree Pocket
Boat Ramp is situated near the Reserve of the same name. It is a popular spot
for boaters and families, often becoming quite crowded. This area is an
excellent location for picnicking and spending quality time with loved ones.
The concrete ramp has
a single lane with a wide pontoon, making it a good place to launch boats,
especially during high tide. However, boaters should exercise caution during
low tide, as there is a significant drop-off where the concrete ramp ends. If
the trailer is backed down too far, the wheels can go over the edge.
Additionally, the ramp can be muddy from the river, making it slippery.
The trailer rigging
zone is spacious enough for cars and trailers to maneuver, and there is ample
parking available.
Fig Tree Pocket River
Reserve is a serene waterfront park featuring picnic tables, barbecues, and a
charming nautical-themed playground, all amidst majestic gum trees. Accessible
toilets are available on-site, and a paved footpath leads from the car park
past the playground down to the river.
Overall, it’s a great
place to launch both boats and PWCs (jet skis) due to its accessibility.
Visitors can enjoy kayaking, cruising along the river, or fishing.
