The Five Mile Reserve
is situated east of Narrandera, on the southern side of the Old Wagga Road,
nestled beside the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. This lagoon features a
sandy beach and is a popular spot for a riverside picnic or a day of water
activities such as swimming, fishing, boating, and water skiing. Carp are
usually caught in the river. The lake is also a good spot for waterbirds, as
well as parrots and raptors.
There is a single
concrete lane ramp that provides waterway access to the river, making it a good
location to launch a boat, kayak, or canoe, although the area can be shallow at
times.
The Reserve offers a
free camping site with a maximum stay limit of 72 hours. It is quite basic with
a pit toilet and a picnic table as facilities. There is plenty of parking
available for cars and boat trailers. For the more adventurous visitor, the Five
Mile mountain bike trail is nearby for bikers who want to show off their
skills. Dogs are allowed in the Reserve as long as they are kept on a leash.

If you are looking to
buy boats or need to upgrade your boat engine, look no further than Riverina Marine
Centre (a Quintrex and Camero boat and Yamaha outboard engines dealership)
they are approximately an hour and 30-minute drive from the Reserve. You can
easily trailer your boat to the dealership and back to the ramp without taking
too much time. You can also buy a boat trailer, marine gear, fishing supplies,
and boating equipment from well-known brands.
