The Golden Beach Boat Ramp, also known as the Caloundra Public Boat Ramp, is located on Lamerough Parade next to Apex Park. This four-lane concrete ramp features a centrally positioned pontoon, recently upgraded to improve access and flow. The addition of designated entry and exit lanes has made launching and retrieving more efficient, particularly during busy times.
The ramp is a popular launch point for boats, jet skis, and kayaks heading into the Pumicestone Passage or out toward open water. While it can get congested during peak hours, it remains one of the best ramps in the Caloundra area.
There is a fish cleaning table beside the ramp and ample parking close to the ramp, including dedicated trailer spaces. The surrounding area is well-equipped for a day out, with Apex Park offering barbecue facilities, picnic tables under cover, and open grassy areas for activities.
A small beach near the park provides a safe swimming area for children, although the shoreline near the ramp itself is not ideal for swimming and can be noisy with boat activity. You'll also find a lot of pelicans and seagulls hanging out here.
Just across the road, you'll find toilet facilities within the off-leash dog park, perfect for pet owners looking to let their dogs run. The nearby Caloundra Power Boat Club is only about 150 metres away, making the area even more convenient for boaters.
All in all, this is a lively and well-used spot that caters to both recreational boating and relaxed family outings. Whether you’re here to launch a vessel, enjoy a picnic, or take a walk with the family (and the dogs), Golden Beach offers a versatile and scenic coastal setting.
