UPDATE (April 14, 2026):
The newly renovated Lang Lang boat ramp is now finally open to the public. The facility now has a brand-new jetty and a modern concrete boat ramp, making launching, retrieving, and tying up boats a far smoother experience.
The original ramp remains in place for non-powered vessels, helping to ease congestion during peak periods and keep things moving efficiently. Meanwhile, the new jetty can accommodate up to five boats at a time and is fitted with cleats for securing lines, along with protective fenders for vessels while temporarily berthed. There is also a small access ramp for pedestrians who want to go right to the beach.
Designed by the Victorian government with durability in mind, the ramp sits above the surrounding beach to help minimise erosion. Its grooved concrete surface extends into deeper water at a steeper angle to improve traction while keeping vehicle rear axles dry during launch and retrieval.
However, bear in mind that due to the area’s shallow waters and flat seabed, the ramp will still be best suited for use during mid to high tides.
The Lang Lang Boat Ramp is a simple, single-lane ramp located about southeast of Melbourne, right on the shores of Western Port.
The carpark features 33 dedicated car-and-trailer spaces, 10 single-car spots, and an informal overflow area that can fit another 10 trailers. This means more room for both locals and visiting boaters.
The ramp already has some handy amenities before its upgrade, which includes a fish cleaning station with a hose, a nearby toilet block, and a BBQ area just a short walk away. There are also benches scattered along the sandy beach, making it a great spot to relax after a day on the water. Plus, with a caravan and camping park nearby, it’s the perfect place for a weekend getaway.
Lang Lang Beach itself is a peaceful and scenic stretch of coastline, ideal for a family day out. Whether you're looking to fish, take a stroll, or just enjoy the fresh sea air, it’s a great spot to unwind.
