The Loch Sport Jetty and Boat Ramp, situated on Victoria Parade near the Loch Sport Boat Club, offers a well-equipped two-lane concrete ramp flanked by a small jetty on each side, along with a large main jetty. Launching here provides access to Lake Victoria, and the ramp is surrounded by a sandy beach, making it an inviting spot for boaters. The area is generally shallow in places, but the main jetty sits in deeper water, allowing for easy launching and retrieval of boats.
The jetty is wheelchair accessible and frequently used by overnight sailors and anglers hoping for a good catch. Facilities include a dump point for boats at the end of the jetty, a spacious car park with disabled parking, and nearby toilet amenities. A few shops are located approximately 500 metres away.
Loch Sport is a user-friendly location with plenty of open space for manoeuvring trailers and ample parking, even during busy periods. The site is ideal for families, with shallow water perfect for children to swim safely. Visitors can fish from the long jetty, kayak from the small beach, or make use of the stainless steel fish cleaning table.
The area is well-maintained, with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, making it a lovely place to visit, unwind, and enjoy the natural beauty of Lake Victoria. Its tranquillity and scenic surroundings also make it a slightly quieter, picturesque option for boating and fishing excursions.
