The Longford Boat Ramp, located beside Carins and Stokes Park in Longford, is a single-lane concrete ramp with an adjacent walkway. It’s an all-weather, all-tide facility, though the area can be prone to flooding and the river often runs low during summer.
The ramp itself is clean, easy to access, and set in a scenic spot with lots of parking available for both cars and trailers. While there are no major amenities nearby, the location makes up for it with its natural charm. Boaters often launch here to enjoy a day of skiing, tubing, or simply cruising along the South Esk River, with views extending toward both the South Esk and Macquarie Rivers.
The ramp also doubles as a community space, offering access to several pleasant walking tracks. From here, you can head toward Mill Dam Reserve and take in the riverside outlook, or wander through Stokes Park and into the township of Longford itself. It’s a practical launch point, but also a lovely place to slow down and enjoy the outdoors.
