Ludlows Reserve Ramp

Around a 10-15 minute drive to the east of Wodonga is Lake Hume, a large mass of water that’s filled by the Murray River. On the western edge (and in Victoria’s territory) you can find Ludlows Reserve where visitors can camp in this beautiful natural space for free. It’s a great place to cool off and take a dip into the call waters of Lake Hume or to boat leisurely and catch some fish.

The Ludlows Reserve has two boat ramps that boaters can utilise:

1st Ramp: Ludlows Reserve Boat Ramp has two concrete lanes and is closer to the lake. It’s safe and easy to launch boats, good spots to the bank. Fishing (fish species, catch limits, and size limits) information is available beside the boat ramp. Marine cod, yellow bellow, redfin, and rainbow trout can be caught here. Boaters can park their car and trailers to the side. The boat ramp, however, surfaces its narrow down near the water and they can be visible during low tide so boaters are advised to carefully launch their boat by making sure they have enough ramp surface.

2nd ramp: The Lindsay Boat Ramp is also a safe and easy ramp to launch boats although not as used much since the ramp only finishes quite far from the water, especially when the water is low. Like the first ramp, Lindsay has 2 lanes and there are wide parking spaces at the sides.

Ludlows is a great place to set up camp and explore Lake Hume and the surrounding area with beautiful views of the lake and the mountains. There are a lot of wide grassy areas and trees surrounding the area. There are toilets, picnic tables, BBQs, and mobile phone coverage.

However, visitors can only camp for 24 hours, max. Caravans and motorhomes only, no tents or camper trailers.
