The Macdermott Place Boat Ramp is a handy spot on the west side of Lake Ginninderra, near Macdermott Place in Belconnen. It’s a great place for a day on the water, whether you’re into boating, kayaking, canoeing, or fishing.
The ramp itself is in good shape and has a single lane for launching, making it ideal for smaller boats and non-motorized crafts. Just a heads up—the sandy bottom can have some drop-offs, especially on the left side of the ramp, so watch your step since the water isn’t super clear.
Parking can be a bit tight, but folks still love this spot because of the beautiful views and easy access. Plus, there’s a nearby park with picnic spots, a playground, restrooms, and even a food truck, perfect for a chill day by the lake. There are also some nice beaches nearby if you want to hang out in the water for a while.
