The Mahers Landing
Boat Ramp opened to the public in September 2024 following significant
renovations. The upgraded facility now features a dual-lane concrete ramp
equipped with a jetty that accommodates up to eight boats, along with nearby
parking for 55 vehicles, including spaces for cars with trailers.
The new concrete ramp
is elevated two meters above the beach, allowing boats to launch into deeper
water. Previously, the single-lane ramp only permitted high-tide access to
Anderson Inlet for small boats.
One concern raised by
ramp users is that the jetty is only accessible during low tide; it becomes
submerged at high tide.
Amenities at the site
include newly renovated restrooms, lighting, and fueling stations all within walking distance.
This is a must-visit spot, even if you’re not planning to launch a boat. The area boasts well-maintained walking paths and clean facilities, making it an excellent place to take a break on your journey to Bass Coast from South Gippsland. The stunning coastal inlet further elevates the experience.
