The Memorial Drive Boat Ramp, located in Riverside Gardens, Bayswater, offers a double-width concrete ramp with a jetty, providing easy access to the Swan river. The ramp is in good condition, with shore access available on either side, though it can be slippery at times. Entry to the ramp is via Memorial Drive.
It’s also worth noting that the jetty was designed to be accessible for wheelchair users, so visitors are encouraged to give priority to those fishing from the accessible section. Personal watercraft is not allowed to launch here.
Facilities include a small car park with around 14 trailer bays and plenty of open grassy areas, although there are no public toilets nearby. The setting is quiet and scenic, making it a pleasant spot to launch a boat or simply enjoy the river views.
The jetty provides ample room for fishing, and the calm waters make it an ideal place to introduce kids to fishing. Common catches here include black bream, flathead, mulloway, and yellowtail grunter. The area is also popular for picnics, dog walking, and leisurely strolls along the riverside paths.
Riverside Gardens itself is a lovely park, with shaded areas, open lawns, and sections perfect for barbecues or relaxing by the water.
Peaceful and scenic, the Memorial Drive Boat Ramp and its surroundings offer a great balance of recreation, relaxation, and river charm, a quiet little spot well worth a visit.
