The Mooloolaba boat ramp is a super convenient
spot to launch your boat or kayak. It’s got a clean, dual-lane concrete ramp, with an additional 2 lane concrete ramp a few steps away (and also comes with a pontoon) that makes getting in and out of the water a breeze. Plus, it’s right next to
the Coast Guard and a marina, so if anything goes sideways, help is literally
right there.
It’s a top-notch ramp with easy access to the
Mooloolah River, and from there you can head straight out to the ocean or
nearby reefs. The tidal current can be a bit noticeable, but the ramp still
works well whether it’s high or low tide. It gets a little busy during peak
times, but if you get out into the vast ocean, you might even spot whales; if
you're lucky!
There’s a pontoon in the middle the ramp, which is
handy for loading and unloading, though you’ll often find people fishing or
even swimming there. There are also plenty of launch areas and a sandy spot
where you can leave your boat while you sort out the car.
Parking’s a bit of a mixed bag—there's a wide
parking area with a decent amount of trailer parking, but it fills up fast.
Locals love this ramp, so if you’re not there early on busy days, you might be
out of luck snagging a spot. Expect a bit of traffic around the ramp during
those peak times, too.
As for facilities, you’ve got a tap to rinse
off the boat, three fish cleaning stations, and toilets that are usually pretty
clean. All up, it’s a busy but well-equipped ramp in a great location.
