The Mooloolah River Boat Ramp, located in Outrigger Park at Minyama on the Sunshine Coast, has recently undergone a welcome upgrade by the Queensland Government, making it safer, easier, and more convenient to access one of the region’s busiest waterways.
Now featuring a dual-lane concrete ramp with a floating walkway, the facility also includes a revetment wall on the northern side to help protect against erosion. The car park has been improved too, with a sealed surface offering 32 car-and-trailer spaces plus additional parking for standard vehicles.
It’s a great spot for anglers, whether you prefer flicking a lure or casting bait from the shore. The ramp is often less crowded during the day, making launching your tinnie, kayak, trailer boat, or paddleboard a breeze. Land-based fishers often share the space with beachgoers, so expect a lively but relaxed atmosphere.
The area offers shady spots for your car, picnic tables and chairs along the river, and a small sandy beach that’s perfect for kids to play or for walking the dog. It’s also an excellent place to spot sea life right at your feet while fishing.
While it’s a great all-round location for boating, paddling, and family time, the only drawback is the absence of public toilets, so plan ahead before you go.
