The Moores Reserve Boat Ramp, also called Oatley Bay Boat Ramp, located on Morshead Drive, is a well-maintained three-lane concrete ramp set within a spacious 14-hectare recreational reserve. It provides convenient access to Connells Bay and the wider Georges River system, making it a popular choice for kayakers, paddleboarders, and recreational boaters.
The ramp is wide enough to accommodate up to three vehicles at a time and is usable at both high and low tide. A floating pontoon assists with launching and retrieval, although solo operators may find it a little challenging at times due to the limited number of pontoons and the angled bridge access.
Parking is available within Moores Reserve, with a dedicated area along Morshead Drive suitable for cars and trailers. As the site is especially popular with jet ski users, spaces can fill quickly on weekends. The reserve is wheelchair accessible and offers public toilets, picnic areas, and shaded spots, though there are no boating-specific facilities such as fish-cleaning stations.
Beyond the ramp, the reserve itself is a standout feature. Wetlands, landscape gardens, and an off-leash dog park create a relaxed, family-friendly environment. A network of boardwalks and walking trails winds through the mangroves, offering scenic views and opportunities to spot local wildlife.
With its peaceful setting and well-rounded facilities, Moores Reserve is more than just a boat ramp. It’s a scenic and accessible spot for launching watercraft, enjoying a picnic, walking the dog, or simply spending time by the river.
