The 3-lane concrete boat Ramp can accessed from Ross Rd off the Bruce Highway at Deeral. The boat ramp gives easy access to Mulgrave River. Estuary fishing is popular here. Aside from fishing, scenic boat cruises to Russell Heads can be done. However, the ramp can be overwhelming to use during high tide and flooding.
Care should be taken
when launching or retrieving since our warm tropical climate encourages the
growth of marine algae and slime making the ramps extremely slippery.
Also, the waterways
are home to crocodiles and boaters are advised to be careful. Furthermore, cleaning
fish near ramps and dumping discarded frames, attract these cunning animals.
Facilitates in the
boat ramp include clean toilet facilities, and water for boat wash down. There
are ample spaces for car and trailer parking but it can be an issue during peak
periods. Can be inundated during high peak tides and flooding. Car storage for
extended trips offered nearby.
