The New Blanchetown Boat Ramp is located next to the former ferry landing in the quiet township of Blanchetown, South Australia. This single-lane concrete ramp offers straightforward access to the Murray River and is generally not too busy, making it a convenient option for a peaceful day out. While the ramp itself is solid, there’s limited space available to beach or moor your boat alongside.
In May 2025, the site underwent repair works as part of the Mid Murray Council’s Community and Recreation Asset Restoration Program. Upgrades included rock reinforcement at the base of the ramp, improving its stability and usability.
Parking is available nearby, though it can get tight during weekends and peak periods. The area offers a range of amenities including public toilets, a barbecue area, and picnic facilities. Just across the river, under the bridge, there's a picturesque camping spot, an ideal place to stay overnight or enjoy a riverside lunch.
The setting is peaceful and scenic, surrounded by gum trees and home to plenty of local wildlife. It’s also a good location for fishing or simply taking a relaxing walk along the water’s edge. Whether you're launching a boat, casting a line, or just looking for a quiet spot to unwind, Blanchetown is well worth the visit.
