The Nullaki Drive Boat Ramp, situated along the Bibbulmun Track in Nullaki, Albany, is a modest concrete ramp with a simple jetty. While it’s not large or flashy, it offers stunning views over Wilson Inlet. This sheltered spot is ideal for launching a canoe or tinnie, though at times the inlet’s water level can drop, leaving the shallows a little stagnant.
The inlet itself is a popular summer playground, perfect for water skiing, kayaking, and canoeing. It’s also rich in fish, mussels, and crabs, making it a great spot for those who enjoy combining boating with a bit of fishing or foraging.
From here, you can take a scenic trip to Pelican Island, a nearby bird sanctuary and breeding ground that attracts an incredible variety of birdlife throughout the year. The ramp also offers direct access to Denmark (not to be confused with the country in Europe), just a 10-minute boat ride across the inlet, up the Denmark River, and right into the heart of this vibrant coastal town.
With shady parking and a quiet, peaceful atmosphere, it’s a pleasant hideaway even if you’re not hitting the water. A couple of picnic tables tucked among the trees make it a nice spot to sit and take in the view. There are no bins, toilets, or running water, so be sure to bring what you need and take everything with you. The jetty is also a regular pickup and drop-off point for hikers on the Bibbulmun Track.
