The Connell Road Boat Ramp at Oyster Bay is a single-lane ramp with a designated area for kayak preparation, offering simple access for small craft. Parking is limited to on-street spaces only, with no dedicated areas for cars and trailers.
Boaters should be aware that the water in this area is very shallow, with low depths extending from the base of the ramp to around 100 metres offshore. As a result, the ramp is not usable at low tide and is best suited to shallow-draft vessels. Careful planning around tide times is essential, with a workable window of roughly three hours on the outgoing tide to return up the ramp.
There are no amenities on site, so it’s best to arrive prepared. While facilities are minimal, the location is rewarded with peaceful surroundings and impressive sunrises, making it a pleasant spot for an early start on the water.
