The Palana Boat Ramp, found in the quiet coastal community of Palana on Flinders Island, is a small single-lane concrete ramp with a modest jetty alongside. Suitable for small to medium-sized boats, it offers direct access to the ocean. However, it's important to note that the ramp is exposed to weather from the northwest through to the northeast, and launching can be restricted during low tide. Mooring is not permitted at this site.
The setting is peaceful, with crystal-clear waters and scenic coastal views; one of many beautiful spots that make Flinders Island such a special place.
There’s no formal sealed parking area, but vehicles and trailers can be accommodated in the surrounding open space. Facilities are minimal, with no toilets or fish cleaning stations available, and parking is limited.
This ramp is best suited for those looking for a quiet, no-frills launch point into some of Tasmania’s most pristine waters.
