The dual-lane concrete
boat ramp is located at Gepp Parade in Derwent Park, Tasmania. Prince of Wales
Boat Ramp (named after the Prince of Wales in the United Kingdom) features an
adjacent pontoon and is suitable for all tides. This ramp provides easy access
to the bay with the same name. PWC fenders have been installed for convenience
to the jet skiers.
This bay is a
beautiful spot and perfect for catching fish. You can observe various birds,
ducks, and other wildlife in the area. There is a conveniently located BBQ area
with covered tables, which is great for those unexpected changes in Tasmania's
weather.
The boat ramp has
ample parking available and it’s rarely crowded, making it a well-designed
setup. It is also near the Giblins Reserve which is a great place for picnicking
and BBQ parties. A playground is also available for kids and an undercover grassy
shelter for ball games.
The boat ramp and its
surrounding areas are teeming with ducks and pelicans.
