Reardons Reserve Boat Ramp is a key access point to Lake
Eildon, in Mansfield, Victoria. This facility serves as a popular launch site
for recreational boaters and anglers aiming to explore the expansive waters
Lake Eildon. The reserve itself is nestled amidst natural bushland, offering a
serene environment for visitors.
The boat ramp has recently undergone an upgrade, which
includes the addition of new gravel in the car park to fill in ruts and
potholes. Additionally, drainage improvements have been made along the access
road to maintain good conditions for safety and access to the boat ramp car
parks. The ramp features a single-lane concrete structure, suitable for
launching small to medium-sized boats. Users should exercise caution during
periods of low water levels, as submerged obstacles may pose challenges. Sometimes
the water gets too low to be able to launch a boat here at times. The maximum
height of any vessel on Lake Eildon, including masts or aerials, is 12 metres.
Boats that have sleeping accommodations and/or toilets need a permit to operate
on the lake.
There is now a spacious area adjacent to the ramp for
parking vehicles and trailers, although this space may be limited during peak
seasons. Amenities at Reardons Reserve are basic and do not include restrooms
or picnic areas.
Although its infrastructure is limited, the ramp offers
crucial access to the Murray River, famous for its fishing and stunning
scenery, with beautiful views of snow-capped Mt Buller in the background.
