The Rivermouth Road Boat Ramp, just a short distance from Eagle Point Lookout and the Eagle Point Gippsland Lakes Reserve, offers a simple single-lane gravel ramp with a small wooden jetty alongside it. The ramp provides access to Jones Bay on the Gippsland Lakes.
It’s a compact, no-fuss spot that suits smaller boats and makes launching straightforward. The area has a peaceful feel, making it a pleasant place to pause for lunch or enjoy a quiet moment by the water. Visitor numbers tend to be low, so it rarely feels crowded.
A fish-cleaning table sits beside the ramp, and parking for cars and trailers is available on the grassy area opposite. While the parking space isn’t large, it’s generally more than enough given the limited traffic.
This is a nice little launching point if you’re keen to spot pelicans, swans, coots, and cormorants, or want to enjoy some fishing and take in a good sunset. It’s also a pleasant place for a casual wander and a look around. Take note that camping isn’t allowed in this area.
