The Riverview Boat Ramp, located near Burns Bay Reserve, offers a single-lane concrete ramp with an adjoining pontoon. It’s a generally quiet spot in a sheltered bay that gives access to the Lane Cove River.
The ramp itself has been upgraded in recent years and now features a wider, longer surface with a pontoon where you can tie up while retrieving your vehicle. The ramp is suitable for most small to medium recreational boating. Anglers often head to the nearby jetty, which is considered an ideal place to cast a line. Kayaks can be launched easily here as well. The area usually stays calmer than other public ramps, making it a comfortable choice for relaxed outings.
Parking is limited to just a few trailer spaces. Street parking is possible, but tends to fill quickly on weekends when nearby sporting events are on.
Facilities are close by, including public toilets within 100 metres and a dog park with BBQ areas. It also serves as a convenient short-term mooring point.
There is space farther up the road near the toilet block to pull over and wash down your boat and flush your motor. Multiple taps are available, though you’ll need to bring your own hose, fittings, and tap key.
While the surroundings are clean and well-maintained, the road to the ramp can be a slight drawback. The access roads are steep, narrow, and winding, which can be challenging for larger vehicles towing big boats, but this naturally keeps ramp traffic to smaller setups that are quicker to launch and retrieve.
Overall, it’s a pleasant and practical ramp in a convenient location, but with very limited parking and no dedicated wash-down facilities directly at the ramp itself.
