The Sandy Point Boat
Ramp is a hidden gem—a quiet, relaxing spot that’s perfect for a laid-back day
on the water. If you’re into jet skiing, this place is a summer favorite for
testing your skills! Unlike some of the busier ramps, Sandy Point stays relatively
uncrowded, making for an easy, stress-free launch.
This small,
single-lane concrete ramp is best suited for shallow-draft vessels like
tinnies, kayaks, and canoes. Keep an eye on the tides, though—the ramp is
shallow and may not provide enough depth at low tide, so plan your launch
accordingly. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended, as the ramp can get pretty sandy.
The Transport for
NSW’s Boating Now Program and the local council renovated the ramp with major
upgrades, including an extension, a new gangway, a floating pontoon with a
dedicated launching platform for unpowered vessels, dredging, and seawall
repairs.
One downside? Parking
is limited, so get there early if you’re bringing a car and trailer.
