The Stansbury Boat Ramp is a well-maintained triple-lane concrete ramp, located on Jetty Road, Stansbury, on the southeastern coast of Yorke Peninsula. It provides direct access to Oyster Bay and the surrounding waters of Gulf St Vincent, making it a popular launching point for recreational boaters and anglers, especially those interested in squid fishing.
Positioned next to Stansbury Jetty (a fishing and sightseeing pier), this ramp is protected by a breakwater, ensuring smoother launching conditions even during rough weather.
The facility is designed to accommodate a variety of watercraft, and a boarding pontoon is available, allowing for easy loading and unloading of passengers and gear. Although rare, there can be seals and dolphins, so caution should be exercised when launching.
Boaters should be aware that permits or tickets are required for launching. Single-use tickets can be purchased from a ticket dispenser in the car park, while monthly and annual permits are available through the Stansbury Caravan Park or Yorke Peninsula Council.
There is a wide car park available for both cars and trailers that can accommodate more than 50 vehicles.
The area also features toilets, washdown facilities, picnic spots, an electric vehicle charging station, and walking paths. The breakwater surrounding the ramp is utilised for land-based fishing and also serves as a scenic viewpoint, providing stunning views of Oyster Bay and the coastline. A Holiday Motel is also located near the ramp for visitors planning to stay overnight.
