The Summerland Point Boat Ramp is a well-kept public facility located in the lakeside suburb of Summerland Point on the Central Coast of New South Wales. Set along the southeastern edge of Lake Macquarie, the ramp offers a direct and sheltered launch into the lake via Boat Harbour; a calm lagoon that makes for a safe and scenic starting point for boating, fishing, or a quiet day on the water.
This three-lane concrete ramp is spacious and easy to use, with no strong currents or surges to contend with, making it suitable for a wide range of vessels. There's a small jetty about 30 metres from the ramp, useful for picking up or dropping off passengers, and a washdown bay is available nearby for cleaning down your boat after use.
Access from the ramp into the broader lake is via a narrow and shallow channel (depths can range from 0.7 to 1 metre), so it's worth taking it slow as you make your way out. On the opposite side of the ramp area, you’ll find another jetty with a pump-out station, along with three public toilets and a few picnic tables for a more relaxed visit.
The site includes generous parking for both cars and boat trailers. Visitors can enjoy a walk along the picturesque shoreline, have a picnic in the open grassy areas, or make use of the covered BBQ shelters scattered throughout the park. There’s also a small playground close by for families with children.
Overall, it’s a convenient and user-friendly spot to launch, with the added bonus of a quiet, natural setting and thoughtful amenities.
