The Taranna Boat Ramp,
situated along Arthur Highway in Taranna, is a simple yet convenient spot for
launching small boats. This single-lane ramp comes with an adjacent jetty,
offering easy access to Eaglehawk Bay and Dart Island. The launch process here
is smooth and straightforward, but keep in mind that it's only suitable for
smaller vessels.
Since the ramp is
exposed to southwest and northwest weather conditions, a breakwater has been
built nearby to help provide some protection. However, low tide can be a
challenge, so be sure to check the tide charts before heading out. For added
safety, there’s a white navigation light on the shore near the ramp to guide
boaters.
One downside is the
lack of car and trailer parking, so you may need to hunt for a spot nearby. But
what the area lacks in parking, it more than makes up for with its breathtaking
natural beauty. Surrounded by serene landscapes, the ramp is a great place to
soak in the scenery and catch a stunning sunset over the water. Whether you’re
launching your boat or just enjoying the peaceful atmosphere, this boat ramp
offers a charming escape into nature.
