The Pines Boat Ramp, located near Hudson Park and the local community hall in The Pines on the western side of Yorke Peninsula, provides single-lane concrete access into Spencer Gulf and out to open water. It's a convenient launch point for recreational boaters heading into the gulf or beyond.
The area itself is quite pleasant, though at times it can be affected by seaweed buildup along the shoreline, which can bring with it an unpleasant smell. Despite this, it's a scenic and peaceful spot to spend time by the water.
A small car park is located adjacent to the ramp, offering space for cars and trailers. A recently constructed shelter at the foreshore (funded through community and council support) adds a welcome touch to the upgraded ramp area. Additional amenities include benches and picnic tables, making it a comfortable place to pause and enjoy the view.
While there are no toilets directly at the ramp, public facilities are available just a short walk away next to the community hall. A holiday home nearby adds to the appeal for those looking to stay close to the coast.
It’s also worth noting that the ramp sustained some storm damage in 2024, but the local council has since carried out repairs, including clearing and fixing the steps to the west of the ramp. Overall, The Pines Boat Ramp remains a practical and welcoming spot for boaters and visitors alike.
