The Twin Waters Boat Ramp is an awesome spot to
launch into the beautiful Maroochy River. The ramp has a dual-lane concrete
ramp with a rigging area that has a wide and flat surface that’s super easy to
use, as long as you keep an eye on the tide. Just a heads-up: the eastern side
is a bit sketchy. There's a sudden 1-meter drop, so it’s a good idea to hop out
of your car (or let your company do it) and check before backing down. It’s a top launch point for tinnies and
medium-sized trailer boats, and it handles all kinds of weather really well.
There's a pontoon too, which doubles as a solid fishing spot for land-based
fishos.
You won’t have trouble finding parking; there
are many spots for your car and trailer. Facilities are pretty basic though:
just a tap for rinsing off your boat and a fish cleaning station. No toilets on
site, so plan ahead.
If you’re more into watersports, you’re in
luck; this is also a great place to hire jet skis or paddle boards. Dogs are
welcome too, as long as they’re on a leash. The sandy beach nearby makes it
perfect for a full day by the water.
All in all, it’s a super scenic and easy-going
place to get out on the river.
