Set within the Ward River Camping Area just off Diamantina Road in Bakers Bend, around 20 minutes from Charleville in South West Queensland, the Ward River Boat Ramp offers a quiet and remote launching point into the narrow Ward River.
The ramp itself is a single-lane concrete structure, best suited to smaller vessels such as tinnies, kayaks, canoes, and compact motorboats. Conditions can become quite muddy, particularly after rain, which makes 4WD access the most reliable option. While 2WD vehicles can reach the area in dry weather, conditions can change quickly, so planning ahead is important.

The Ward River is a rewarding spot for anglers, with species such as Yellow Belly, Jewfish, Murray Cod, Black Bream, Spangled Perch, Red Claw, and Blue Claw all found in the area.
